I have just set up MPD so I can access it from the internet on my phone.
The widget says connection timeout though, even when I press on it and it brings up the main app a which is itself apparently connected ok.
The widget doesn’t automatically reconnects. The reason is that it is running in the background and so trying to keep processing to minimum to save battery.
It should try to reconnect when clicked, so in your example it should have reconnected after clicked.
I will look into improving this by enabling auto re-connection when charging or by attempting to reconnect when the network connectivity has changed.
Widgets auto reconnect on network availability was added in version 1.6.7 Nov-14-2021.
